-Jack Flaherty pitched six scoreless innings to lead the Cardinals to a 5-2 win over the Brewers Friday night at Busch Stadium. The win moved the Cardinals just a half game out of a wildcard playoff spot. Flaherty has won each of his last three starts, allowing just two runs in a combined 19 innings.

- Marcell Ozuna and Kolten Wong each drove in two runs for the Cardinals, and Jedd Gyorko hit his 10th homer as the Cardinals improved to 9-1 in their last 10 games.

- Miles Mikolas will get the start tonight in the second game of the series.
