- Magnus Paajarvi scored 9:42 into overtime to give the Blues a 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday in Minnesota, clinching their first-round series four games to one. Vladimir Sobotka made the play, getting the puck to Paajarvi for the winning goal. The Blues had blown a 3-1 lead into the third period as the Wild rallied to send the game to overtime.
- The Blues will have home-ice advantage for their second-round series against the Nashville Predators. The first two games will be in St. Louis, with the dates and times for the games to be announced by the NHL at the conclusion of the other first-round series.
- A sore back kept Aledmys Diaz out of the starting lineup on Saturday night but he came through off the bench with a pinch-hit home run that sent the Cardinals to a 4-1 win over the Brewers in Milwaukee, It was the second pinch-hit homer in Diaz's career and his fourth homer this season, which leads the team.
- Mike Leake will get the start today as the Cardinals' close out the four-game series. Jimmy Nelson will pitch for the Brewers.
