- The Missouri Tigers snapped their five-game losing streak today with a 68-21 win over Idaho in Columbia. Tigers quarterback Drew Lock led the team to a 34-point outburst in the first quarter en route to the much-needed victory. Lock passed for six touchdowns in the game , which Missouri led 51-14 at halftime.

- The Blues will play their first game against the expansion Golden Knights tonight in Las Vegas, coming off a 4-3 win Thursday night against the Avalanche in Denver. Jaden Schwartz scored his sixth goal in the season's first eight games and is among the leading scorers in the NHL with 12 points.

- David Bell was hired Friday as the director of player development by the San Francisco Giants after four years on the Cardinals' coaching staff, the last three as the team's bench coach. His departure leaves three openings on manager Mike Matheny's staff following the dismissal of pitching coach Derek Lilliquist and bullpen coach Blaise Ilsley.
