 - The Cardinals wasted a very good start from Jaime Garcia in losing to the Brewers Monday night at Busch Stadium, the first time they have lost 1-0 at home since Sept. 2009, a span of 443 games.

- Garcia allowed just three hits over seven innings, striking out four and no walking a batter. The only run of the game scored on a pair of singles in the first inning.

- Matt Holliday walked in the first and singled in the eighth to extend his record streak of reaching base to his first 45 games this season.

- Lance Lynn will pitch the second game of the series tonight while the Brewers will start Tyler Cravy, who will be making his major-league debut.
