WednesDay, Sept. 2, 2015 

- Brandon Moss hit a three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday night to put the Cardinals 40 games over .500 with an 8-5 victory over the Nationals at Busch Stadium.

-  Cody Stanley, recalled from Memphis earlier in the day, started the winning rally with a two-out double before Tommy Pham walked. Moss followed with his fifth career walk-off homer to increase the Cardinals’ lead over the Pirates to six games in the NL Central.

- The Cardinals will try for the sweep of the three-game series against the Nationals tonight behind Michael Wacha. St. Louis native Max Scherzer will start for the Nationals. It will be Scherzer’s second career start at Busch Stadium. He allowed four runs in five innings on Sept. 24, 2008 when he was a rookie with Arizona and lost 4-2.
