- John Lackey allowed just two hits over 7 1/3 innings, one a bunt single against the shift, to pitch the Cardinals to a 4-0 win over the Cubs Friday night in game one of the Division Series at Busch Stadium. Lackey made a 1-0 lead stand up from the first inning on before eighth-inning homers from Tommy Pham and Stephen Piscotty produced the insurance runs.
- Jaime Garcia will get the start in game two of the series today while Kyle Hendricks will start for the Cubs. Game time is set for 4:37 p.m.
- The Blues, coming off a 3-1 season-opening win Thursday night against Edmonton, are in Minnesota tonight to play the Wild in the start of a six-game road trip. Jake Allen will get the start in goal.
- After leading Missouri over South Carolina last week in his first collegiate start, freshman Drew Lock hopes to make it two starts, two wins in today's homecoming game against Florida. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
