- Three more home runs carried the Cubs to a 6-4 win over the Cardinals Tuesday night in Chicago and the Division Series win, ending the Cardinals' season. Javier Baez hit a three-run homer off John Lackey in the second before Kevin Siegrist served by homers to Anthony Rizzo in the sixth and Kyle Schwarber in the seventh. The Cubs hit 10 homers in the series, including nine in the last two games.
- This was the fourth season in a row which ended with three consecutive postseaon losses for the Cardinals, who lost in the Division Series for the first time since 2009. The Cardinals had been 5-0 in elimination games in the Division Series since 2011.
- The Blues' six-game road trip continues tonight in Calgary. The Blues learned Monday they will be without rookie forward Robby Fabbri for an indefinite period because of a concussion suffered in Saturday night's game in Minnesota.
