- Friday's game at Arkansas might or might not be the final game for Missouri coach Gary Pinkel. The Tigers could still earn a bowl appearance even if they lose to the Razorbacks. Kickoff is at 1:30 from Fayetteville and the game will be televised by CBS.
- Sidney Crosby scored the first two goals of his career against the Blues and Evgeni Malkin won it in overtime as the Penguins defeated the Blues 4-3 Wednesday night in Pittsburgh. Paul Stastny, Robby Fabbri and Alex Pietrangelo scored for the Blues.
- Crosby had been limited to just five assists in 10 career games against the Blues before he scored in the first period and he then added a power-play goal in the second period. The Blues had been the only team to keep Crosby without a goal in his career.
- The Blues return home to host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.
