- The Cardinals signed free agent catcher Brayan Pena to a two-year contract on Monday, likely signaling the end of Tony Cruz's time as the backup to Yadier Molina. The switch-hitting Pena has played 11 seasons in the majors, the last two with the Cincinnati Reds.
- The University of Missouri announced Monday that the school will not pursue a bid to a bowl game following a 5-7 football season as the search for a new coach to succeed the retiring Gary Pinkel continues.
- The Blues will host the Florida Panthers tonight as they begin a stretch that will see them play 11 games at Scottrade Center in December, including eight of the next 10. Jake Allen will get the start in goal.
