- Miles Mikolas allowed just four hits and struck out a career high nine in pitching his first career shutout on Monday night as the Cardinals defeated the Royals 6-0 at Busch Stadium, improving to 6-0 this season.

- Mikolas got all the support he needed from Matt Carpenter and Tyler O'Neill. Carpenter had three hits, including a home run, and has raised his average from .140 to .210 over the last six games. O'Neill homered for the third game in a row, a three-run shot, and also drove in a fourth run with a double.

- Luke Weaver will get the start tonight in the second game of the series.

- The Blues announced on Monday that Scottrade Center is changing names. The building will be known as the Enterprise Center after a naming rights contract was signed that will cover the next 15 years.
