- Miles Mikolas won his 17th game, Matt Carpenter broke a home-run drought and the Cardinals remained two games behind the Brewers in the wild-card race with Sunday's 9-2 win over the Giants. The Cardinals have won six of their last seven games, including the sweep of the Giants. Carpenter's home run was his league-leading 36th of the season and was his first since Aug. 31.

- Jack Flaherty will get the start tonight as the Cardinals open a three-game series against the Brewers at Busch Stadium that begins the final week of the regular season.

- The Blues picked up a pre-season win in Columbus on Sunday, defeating the Blue Jackets 4-1. Sammy Blais scored a pair of goals and Robert Thomas had three assists.
