- Jack Flaherty and four relievers combined on a four-hit shutout Sunday night as the Cardinals snapped a season-high four-game losing streak with a 5-0 win over the Cubs at Busch Stadium.

- Flaherty allowed just two infield hits and struck out seven in five innings in his first career start against the Cubs. The game was scoreless until the Cardinals scored twice in the sixth. John Brebbia picked up his first major-league victory.

. The Cardinals will be in Philadelphia tonight to open a three-game series and a seven-game trip that also includes four games in Milwaukee. Miles Mikolas will get the start in the opener.
