The River City Rascals defeated the Evansville Otters, 7-5, behind a five run first inning Sunday afternoon to force a game five in the Frontier League Championship Series.
The winner take all game will be played at historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana, Monday night as the Rascals look to win their second championship in team history (2010 under manager Steve Brook).
The River City Rascals allowed 13 runs and were defeated in game three of the Frontier League Championship Series Saturday night, 13-7, against the Evansville Otters, making game four on Sunday a win or go home scenario for the Rascals.
After an off-day Thursday, the Rascals will host the Otters for gamest three and four of the Championship Series beginning Friday night at CarShield Field.
The River City Rascals won game two of the Frontier League Playoffs Wednesday night behind a three hit complete-game shutout from Dylan Brammer.
The Frontier League season is winding down with the Gateway Grizzlies winning their last home game in front of a record crowd and the Rascals Clinching the final Wild Card spot with their season finale win.
The River City Rascals had their winning streak end at 11 games as the Florence Freedom beat them in a game on the road in Florence, Kentucky. They hope to hang on to the wild card, and playoff tickets are on sale.
